Climate Justice League

Posted in Uncategorized

The Climate Justice League at University of Oregon is comprised of eight student-driven committee members pushing the need for urgent action to prevent the quickening effects of climate change. Through direct-action campaigns on numerous fronts, they seek a sustainable future for all by changing colonial industrial uses of the environment, changing the approach of nature as a resource, and the hazardous effects to communities disproportionately affected by our changing climate.

Recent campaigns include Forest Defense, fighting unsustainable logging projects, and Divest, a message to the University of Oregon institution to relieve themselves of fossil fuel investments; to use their position and proxy for cleaner energy and thus a cleaner future for the students they serve.
Keep an eye out on campus for their new zine, Divest, or sign up for their podcast, Climate Justice Network. Or join them for their weekly meeting at 242 Gerlinger Hall on Tuesdays at 6 pm.
