The Holden Center and Division of Equity and Inclusion are holding multiple events in the coming weeks in honor of Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. With the year’s theme of Amplifying Voices for Racial Solidarity and Equity, @uodei hosts the Commemoration and Awards Ceremony on January 13th from 11 am-12:30 pm virtually from both Eugene and Portland campuses, featuring tributes, speakers, and a celebration for all nominees. There is also another virtual event of respectful listening with the topic of solidarity later in the day at 1 pm-2:30 pm with CourageousConversations.

On Monday, January 17th, @holdencenter is facilitating a Day of Service, meeting at the Global Scholars Hall at 9 am. By honoring the legacy of Dr. King, their focus this year is on serving the local community and focusing on educating ourselves about racial justice in K-12, locally and nationally, and exploring the impacts for the future.
