The Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics hosts “An Evening of Performance and Discussion”:

Lucy Jones, Wayne Morse Chair and viola da gamba player
Naeemeh Naeemaei, painter and sculptor
Theresa May, UO Theatre Arts
Emily Scott, UO Art History and Environmental Studies
John Witte, UO English

This event will start with Lucy Jones and several other viola da gamba players performing Jones’ composition, “In Nomine Terra Calens” (in the name of a warming earth). Then, Theresa May will perform an excerpt from a play that she devised and directed at UO last year, “The Home Planet.” The performance portion of the evening will finish with a poetry reading by John Witte.
The three performers will be joined by Naeemeh Naeemaei and Emily Scott for a  roundtable discussion on the role of artists and art in addressing the climate emergency and building individual and collective resilience.

This event is free and open to the public.
