As part of a new feature, the Center for Environmental Futures would like to highlight humanities centers around the country (and world!). Their focuses surround the environment, social sciences, history, and culture. They are goldmines for events, research opportunities, funding, and community engagements. Take the opportunity to explore convergent humanities centers in institutions around the country!
First up, The Center for Culture, History, and Environment (CHE) at University of Wisconsin: CHE facilitates interdisciplinary (humanistic and scientific) environmental research, learning, and service aimed at advancing understanding of environmental change within historical, social, and/or cultural contexts. CHE Associates seek to understand how knowledge, beliefs, political economy, and culture have shaped, and been shaped by, the environment. They have an extensive list of involved individuals through faculty, graduate students, and community associates who contribute to the diverse network of research.
