Pacific Northwest Climate Justice Struggle/Fossil Fuel Resistance Front & Center at March 25 and 26th free online conference sponsored by Washington State Universit

Keynote speakers include Lakota-Cheyenne organizer Roben White, U.W. Professor of Education Wayne Au, and comedian Thomas Lopez, Jr., aka “Landback Baddie.”

 

The conference features a panel on the film Necessity: Climate Justice and the Thin Green Line (available beforehand), including Umatilla activist Cathy Sampson Kruse, and filmmaker Jan Haaken; and Barbara Bernstein, host of KBOO’s Locus Focus, speaking on her documentary (also available beforehand) “The Long and Twisted Tale of Jordan Cove” on the diverse coalition that defeated the Jordan Cove terminal and Pacific Connector Pipeline; and Rethinking Schools’ Ursula Wolfe-Rocca with a participatory workshop showcasing role-play-based curriculum on fossil fuel resistance. The conference will also feature a presentation by student organizers with the Environmental Sustainability Alliance, which is coordinating a campaign to pressure WSU to divest from fossil fuels.
